WGTS 91.9 Hosts ‘Night of Hope’
Over 800 people came to the WGTS 91.9 “Night of Hope” event at Community Church in Ashburn, Virginia. The purpose of the event is to invite listeners to connect or reconnect with Jesus. Artist Tasha Layton was the featured guest. She shared some of her most popular songs and shared her story of trying many other religions before realizing what she was missing most from her life was Jesus.
Toward the end of the program, Layton invited people to come forward who would like to make a commitment to Jesus or who needed renewal or healing in their lives. Close to 200 people accepted that invitation and received free Bibles and Bible study guides.
In addition, as part of a station Hands and Heart project, listeners generously donated over 600 white T-shirts to a local homeless shelter.
“Many of the events that WGTS holds are geared at simply doing good things or having fun, but this one is different,” said WGTS director of marketing and morning show host Jerry Woods. “This event is a call to action to make Jesus the top priority in your life. It’s so exciting to see listeners accept that invitation. It’s one of the most gratifying things we get to be a part of.”
