The Light FM’s Listeners Donate More Than $384,000 to Area Pregnancy Centers
Just before Mother’s Day Weekend, May 9-10, The Light FM hosted its annual “Heart of Hope” campaign raising enough funds to provide 2,196 mothers-to-be with ultrasounds and faith-based support for their pregnancies. The station partnered with 28 area pregnancy centers across North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee to raise awareness about their services, including pregnancy tests, counseling, ultrasounds and post-abortion programs.
The Light FM’s listeners were encouraged to learn that 90% of women wrestling with a decision about whether to continue their pregnancy choose life after they see their child’s beating heart
“We are humbled by the generosity of The Light FM donors,” said Jim Kirkland, executive director of Blue Ridge Broadcasting. “Every dollar is going to the lifesaving work that these pregnancy centers are providing through ultrasounds. We praise God for the impact that this campaign is having right here in our own backyard!”
The partner pregnancy resource centers provide compassionate care for those facing an unplanned pregnancy. Each location provides a variety of pregnancy support services that are free and confidential.
This was the seventh year for “Heartbeat of Hope,” which has funded a total of 13,986 ultrasounds for women across the Appalachian Mountains and Piedmont region. To view a list of the 28 pregnancy centers, visit https://thelightfm.org/2024-heartbeat-of-hope-recipients/.
