Shine.FM Dedicates The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio, Expanding Video and Student Media Production

Shine.FM proudly dedicated The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio, named in honor of the Ackerman family, marking a significant expansion in multimedia storytelling and student media training at Olivet Nazarene University.

The new studio, designed to support full video podcast production, allows Shine.FM and Olivet Media Group to create visually engaging content while equipping students with firsthand experience in modern broadcast and digital media.

“The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio represents both gratitude and vision,” said Brian McIntyre, Executive Director of Shine.FM and Olivet Media Group. “We are deeply thankful for the generosity of the Ackerman family and excited about how this space will serve our mission, our students, and our audiences for years to come.”

The studio’s inaugural production debuted in December with a special Christmas video podcast series featuring Viviana Perez, Spanish ministry director for Brilla.FM, alongside guest Dr. Wilfredo Canales. The series marked the first full video project produced in the new space and set the tone for its ministry and educational impact.

Existing audio podcasts will transition immediately into video production, including The Home & The Maker hosted by Megan Fathauer, program director for Shine.FM and Shine 180 with Steph Reynolds, director of donor development. In January, the Spanish-language video podcast Del Caos a la Esperanza (“From Chaos to Hope”) officially launched, expanding Shine.FM’s multilingual outreach and storytelling

Beyond professional content creation, The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio will serve as a learning lab for Olivet Nazarene University students. Multimedia students will be able to develop, produce, and launch original content, gaining real-world experience in audio, video, and digital storytelling. One of the first student-driven projects housed in the studio is Sports on Spark, a podcast focused on ONU athletics.

“This studio allows students to move from theory to practice,” McIntyre added. “They’re not just learning about media—they’re creating it.”

The dedication of the Ackerman Family Podcast Studio reflects Shine.FM’s ongoing commitment to innovation, student development, and sharing stories of hope through every available platform.
