For the third consecutive year, Hope 100.7 (WEEC) has seen God and our listeners move powerfully through its annual Christmas Hope program, bringing encouragement, provision, and joy to families facing hardship during this Christmas season. This year alone, Christmas Hope has helped a record breaking 95 families, with over $45,000 given away through the generosity of local businesses and individual donors.
During the Christmas season, Hope 100.7 partners with our listeners to make Christmas more hopeful for families in need. During the months of November and December Hope 100.7 collects, vets, and posts needs, and through our listeners, connects those needs with people wanting to help. Time and again, God worked powerfully through the generosity of ordinary people to bring profound hope to our community.
Through Christmas Hope, families had utility bills paid, groceries bought, Christmas gifts ordered, medical expenses paid, and even life-changing gifts like a new furnace and a family vacation were given. Each gift represented more than financial support—it was a reminder that these families were seen, loved, and not alone.
One recipient, a disabled veteran whose husband was recently laid off, shared the impact of the program: “[For my family] it got to the point where it came down to either groceries or Christmas, we couldn’t do both. Without your help, my kids would never have had a Christmas. I can’t thank everyone involved enough for this blessing.”
Another recipient, a single mother of three from Piqua, had been without a furnace in her home for over a year. Unable to afford a replacement, her daughters had been sleeping at their grandparents’ home just to stay warm. Through the generosity of Hope 100.7 listeners and local businesses, a brand-new furnace was installed in her home free of charge. For the first time in over a year, she and her daughters could sleep under the same roof again—and their house finally felt like their home again.
“Christmas Hope continues to remind us that our listeners don’t just listen to Hope, they live it.” said Hope 100.7 program director Daryl Pierce. “Every one of these stories are a testament to the love our community has for each other.”
Hope 100.7 is grateful to every donor, partner, and listener who helped make Christmas Hope possible and looks forward to continuing this mission of hope in the years to come.
