WNZR Celebrates Another Anniversary and Successful Food For The Hungry Drive

WNZR 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, recently celebrated the station’s 39th Anniversary by hosting an Alumni Reunion. The special event was held as part of MVNU’s Homecoming.

The WNZR Staff is also celebrating the total for the 2025 Knox County Food For The Hungry Drive – $358,391.42 and 15 truckloads of food! These donations will support food assistance projects and provide emergency client services through Interchurch Social Services, The Salvation Army, and other food assistance organizations of Knox County.

MVNU and WNZR are legacy partners of Food For The Hungry. Faculty, staff. Alumni and students were active participants in the 44th annual campaign, including the drive day broadcast on December 12th. Over 20 members of the Student Media Team volunteered, led by Professors Jayme McMillan and Joe Rinehart, along with Staff Members Eric Brown, Sue MacDonald, and Marcy Rinehart. The WNZR Video Crew produced the live audio/video simulcast at MVNU.tv and shared live updates on WNZR Radio.
