WGTS 91.9 Goes ‘Over the Edge’ for Haitian Orphans
(Tysons Corner, Va.) – For the fourth consecutive year, WGTS 91.9 has gone “Over the Edge” to support orphans in Haiti through the Holistic Haitian Alliance (HHA). Six members of the WGTS team rappelled 14 stories down the outside wall of the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner to help raise money for HHA.
“The first time we did this everyone thought it was crazy,” said WGTS morning show host Jerry Woods. “Now ‘crazy’ has become a tradition. This is such a fantastic way to raise funds and awareness of children in Haiti who are getting a second chance at a future, thanks to the Holistic Haitian Alliance.”
In addition to WGTS staff and listeners, people from all across the greater Washington, D.C., community also went “Over the Edge.” Ninety people participated, raising over $155,000 for the ministry.
“I have always had a special place in my heart for the children of Haiti after traveling there in high school,” said WGTS afternoon show host Stacey Stone. “To know that we could have a great adventure and help orphans through the Holistic Haitian Alliance was a double blessing!”
