WCSG (Grand Rapids, MI) has launched a new podcast titled “Through Rough Waters”. Hosted by Assistant Program Director and on-air host, Zach Groenendal and Kevin DeKam from the local counseling organization West Michigan Wellness Group, Through Rough Waters explores the world of mental health with a Biblical perspective. Each episode features scripture, listener Q&A and a focus topic with insight and support from Christian Licensed Professional Counselors.

Zach says, “I am so grateful for this platform and the ability to have this important discussion. As someone who has been working through anxiety and depression for my entire life, it’s so important to me to remove the stigma of mental health issues and therapy – especially within the world of Christianity. It is my hope that everyone who engages with this podcast will realize that they are not alone in their struggles and that they will reach out and begin the therapy process.”

Program Director Brittany Riva says, “As a Christian radio station, I believe we have a responsibility to engage in difficult, important conversations. ‘Through Rough Waters’ allows WCSG to engage with our listeners on a platform that allows us to give the time and space that these conversations deserve. Zach has done a wonderful job launching it and we are excited to offer this to our listeners. It’s just the beginning of new ways we are looking to serve and build relationships with our listeners.”
