The Journey (WRVL/Lynchburg, VA) held its annual Teacher Supply Drive in partnership with the local Mardel Christian and Education Store in Lynchburg.

During the month of July, listeners were asked to “build a bag” of teacher supplies and then return the bag by the end of the month. Then, on Saturday, August 2, the Journey and Mardel handed out the bags to help teachers have the supplies they will need for the upcoming school year. On average, teachers spend more than $500 of their own money on classroom materials and supplies.

Journey General Manager Mark Edwards said, “We really appreciate the support of the community in partnering with the station and Mardel to help our teachers. It’s a great way to thank the teachers for all they do for students.”
