Positive Life Radio Listeners Give Over 12,000 Pounds of Food for Local Food Banks
(Walla Walla, WA) – Positive Life Radio listeners once again stepped up to feed hungry people across the Northwest with the Hands and Heart: Christmas in July Food Drive. At the 24th annual event, listeners and volunteers collected over 12,000 pounds of food and cash donations for local food banks at several locations from Portland, Oregon, to Lewiston, Idaho.
This community project is especially important as food banks across the United States struggle to provide for their clients due to the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and inflation. The food donations provided by Positive Life Radio listeners will help replenish already low stocks and help support needy families in the Northwest.
“We love shining the spotlight on the food banks in our communities, especially in the summer when food donations run low,” says Positive Life Radio General Manager Chris Gilbreth. “It was especially rewarding to meet people who made it a whole-family thing to buy the food and bring it to the donation drop-offs.”
