Family Life Radio Listeners Bless Families with a Record 59,619 Baby Items
Family Life Radio (FLR) listeners from across the country came together in a big way during the Ultimate Baby Shower, donating a record 59,619 items, more than 40% over last year’s total, to bless moms, dads, and babies through local pregnancy resource centers. From diapers and wipes to bottles, car seats, and clothing, these gifts will directly benefit families in crisis or facing unexpected pregnancies.
Baby shower events and drop-off sites took place in Arizona, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. In total, 147 drop-off locations were available in partnership with pregnancy centers, churches and local organizations.
FLR partnered with pregnancy resource centers to distribute the items. These centers offer free ultrasounds, parenting classes, baby supplies, food and other vital services, relying heavily on local support to meet the needs in their communities.
“With the rising cost of baby essentials, pregnancy centers are seeing an increase in families who need help. The Ultimate Baby Shower is a tangible way to help fill that need, all while showing the love and compassion of Christ,” said Evan Carlson, president and CEO of FLR.
Pregnancy centers across the country have shared powerful stories from the families they serve. One family shared: “Becoming a new parent is hard, especially with your first baby. Knowing my wife and baby were in Care Net’s caring hands brought me so much peace. We didn’t just receive help, we received hope,” Bing and Yi.
