Exciting Changes at CMB
Serving CMB for the past two years, Jon Wood has moved from Operations Manager to Communications & Member Services Manager, effective immediately. Jon steps in following the exit and excellent work of Andrea Hirth, who faithfully served CMB for more than eight years. Jon’s communications, marketing, and management experience at Montreat College and The Light FM/WMIT well-complement the responsibilities of his new role.
Says Wood: “I’m so grateful to be a part of how God uses CMB to support the Christian radio community. We’re at a pivotal point in our industry’s history. As we move into the future, I believe we’ll see more people become part of this community of media professionals to share the hope of the Gospel. CMB is uniquely positioned to offer them the resources needed to meet listeners where they are and reach places in a way that others can’t.”
Of Jon’s transition, CMB Executive Director Michelle Younkman remarked, “With Andrea’s departure from CMB, we had a significant hole to fill. Given Jon’s skill set and deep passion for serving radio professionals, transitioning him into the Communication & Member Services position was a natural fit. He is both a strategic thinker and a dedicated team player who will play a key role in driving forward the mission and vision of CMB.”
With Jon’s move, CMB warmly welcomes Jackie McAleer as its new Operations Manager. Jackie’s résumé includes work in commercial mainstream and Christian radio, and most recently as Chief People Officer for an office with multiple businesses.
As she begins her work with CMB, Jackie said, “I have a tough act to follow. Jon Wood has done an incredible job in this role. I’m grateful for the path he paved and plan to build on what he started. I am all in and a team player excited to support each member of this dynamic CMB team as we seek to serve our industry together.”
Jackie adds she has been a regular recipient of Jesus’ love expressed through the music and message of Christian radio, adding, “The idea that I get to step into a season of encouraging, engaging, and equipping people within this industry that has given so much to me and my family, is truly an honor.”
Speaking of McAleer, Younkman expressed these words: “I’ve known Jackie and known of her expertise and experience for many years. During her time in radio, she was a huge supporter of CMB from the outside. I’m thrilled that now she will be supporting CMB on the inside.”
CMB is a Christian music and media organization giving more platform to the gospel message by providing thought leadership and resources for Christian radio professionals. CMB has nearly 600 members that collectively share the hope found in Jesus to more than 34 million people in the United States each week.
