WBGL’s Yes Day Encourages Listeners to Start a Faith Journey
A nationwide cellphone outage didn’t stop WBGL from hearing from listeners and inviting them to say “yes” to a relationship with Jesus during “Yes Day”. The day was focused on nurturing a relationship with Jesus, sharing stories of faith, and inviting listeners to say “yes” to Jesus.
The station partnered with 14 churches, with area pastors answering calls and helping listeners take the next step in their relationship with Jesus.
“I really enjoy doing Christian things on Christian radio.” said Johnathon Eltrevoog from WBGL’s morning show. “It was a joy seeing so many listeners respond to faith stories shared on the air throughout the day by everyone from Tim Keller to Stephen Colbert, as well as testimonies from many of our artists and on-air team.”
By the end of the day, WBGL heard from 9 listeners who made a new or renewed commitment to follow Jesus!
WBGL is now partnering with area churches to offer the Alpha Course, a 10-week exploration into the basics of the Christian faith. Listeners are invited to join in a deeper understanding and connection with their faith.
WBGL is a part of the Northwestern Media network of University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Northwestern Media stations broadcast on 105 outlets across 11 states.
