WBGL Listeners Partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to Build 150 Beds for Children in Need

WBGL (Champaign, IL) teamed up once again with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for a community-centered event that brought listeners, staff, and volunteers together to construct beds for children in need. More than 120 volunteers joined the WBGL team on February 28, to assemble 150 beds for local children who did not have a bed of their own – all to be distributed throughout Champaign County.

In addition to building beds, listeners also donated new twin-size bedding sets and pillows, ensuring every child would receive a complete and comfortable place to sleep. The day’s impact extended beyond the studio, as volunteers also had the opportunity to participate in a same-day bed delivery to a local family, a tangible reminder of why events like this matter.
