KCBI Celebrates 50 Years

KCBI Radio marked 50 years of broadcast ministry Wednesday evening, February 18, at its annual Ministry Impact Reception during the 2026 NRB Convention.
Since its founding in 1976, God has used KCBI as a faithful broadcast voice in Dallas-Fort Worth, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and His transforming power across the airwaves. What began as a 1,500-watt station barely covering Dallas County has grown into a 100,000-watt powerhouse that now covers all 8.2 million people who make DFW home.
KCBI’s first core value is to be Bible-centered. During the reception, the station honored four longtime ministry partners with the KCBI Impact Legacy Award: Focus on the Family, Grace to You, Insight for Living, and Hope for the Heart. These Bible teaching ministries and biblically grounded programs have been part of the KCBI lineup for nearly the entirety of its five-decade history.
“We are grateful for these ministry partners who have walked alongside us through the years,” said Matt Austin, KCBI General Manager and Vice President of Operations. “It would be impossible to measure their impact.”
Award-winning Christian recording artist Danny Gokey provided special music for the evening, including his hit songs “Love God Love People” and “I Got You.” He also encouraged the ministry partners attending to remain steadfast in their commitment to the Gospel.
Former KCBI General Manager Dr. Ron Harris, Founder and President of the international ministry, Media Alliance, closed the gathering in prayer.
“We are deeply grateful for 50 years of faithful broadcast ministry,” Austin added. “And we look forward with great anticipation to all that God will continue to accomplish through KCBI in the years ahead.”
