Tami Rumfelt New GM at Extra Mile Media

Extra Mile Media has promoted Tami Rumfelt to General Manager, entrusting the veteran broadcaster to lead the Oregon-based media organization as it continues expanding its reach and impact throughout Oregon.
Rumfelt joined Extra Mile Media in 2023 as Program Director, where she has helped lead the programming, digital strategy, and community engagement efforts for Hope 107.9 (KHPE). She now assumes responsibility for the organization’s overall operations, strategic direction, and growth.
Extra Mile Media operates two radio stations serving western Oregon. Hope 107.9 (KHPE) is a 100,000-watt Contemporary Christian radio station reaching listeners throughout the Willamette Valley from Eugene to Portland. With approximately 65,000 weekly listeners, it is the only locally owned and operated Contemporary Christian radio station serving the region. The organization also owns and operates KWIL AM 790 and KWIL FM 96.9, a Talk and Teaching station serving communities throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley.
Rumfelt brings more than 30 years of radio experience to the position. Since joining Extra Mile Media, she has played a key role in strengthening Hope 107.9’s local presence among listeners, donors and business partners – while helping the organization expand its digital and community engagement strategies.
“I am incredibly honored to have been entrusted with this role at such a pivotal time for both our organization and our industry,” said Rumfelt. “Hope 107.9 has spent nearly six decades bringing hope to people throughout the Willamette Valley, and I’m excited to build on that strong foundation. While the way people consume media continues to evolve, our mission remains the same. We’ll continue adapting, growing, and finding new ways to serve our community without ever losing sight of our foundation: loving God and sharing the hope of Jesus in meaningful, authentic ways.”
Friends of Hope, the nonprofit that owns Extra Mile Media, welcomes Tami to her new role. “We are excited Tami has accepted this opportunity to lead our ministry into the future. HOPE and KWIL radio have a long legacy of service to our listeners and the communities we serve. We are grateful for Tami’s passion, dedication, and leadership.”
Randy Davison, Executive Director of Friends of Hope.
Rumfelt will lead Extra Mile Media as the organization continues investing in local programming, digital content, community partnerships, and innovative ways to connect people throughout the Willamette Valley with hope, encouragement, and the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
