Mike Cornell Retires After 30 Years at Voice of the Master Radio
The Voice of the Master Radio Network today announced a historic transition in its leadership. Brett Gibson, previously the network’s Chief Engineer, has officially assumed the role of General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Gibson succeeds Mike Cornell, who is retiring after three decades of visionary leadership at the helm of the Christian radio ministry.
During his 30-year tenure, Cornell guided the Voice of the Master Radio Network from a local broadcast into a far-reaching ministry, comforting and inspiring countless listeners with the Gospel. His dedication to Christian broadcasting has left an indelible mark on both the organization and the communities it serves.
“Serving this network and our incredible listeners for the past 30 years has been the privilege of a lifetime,” said Cornell. “As I step into retirement, I do so with complete confidence in Brett. He possesses not only the technical expertise and operational deep-knowledge required for this role, but more importantly, a profound spiritual commitment to our mission. The network is in excellent hands.”
Gibson steps into the role with a comprehensive understanding of the network’s operations. As previously CEO for Refuge Media group in Minnesota, Gibson oversaw its growth to over 30 signals. As Chief Engineer of Voice of the Master, he was instrumental in modernizing the station’s infrastructure, ensuring seamless broadcast quality, and expanding its digital footprint. His transition to General Manager and CEO represents a natural evolution for the network, blending technical continuity with a fresh vision for the future of Christian media.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to take on this new responsibility,” said Gibson. “Mike Cornell’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, excellence, and service. As we look ahead, our mission remains unchanged: to broadcast the hope of Christ. We will continue to leverage new technologies and platforms to reach hearts, uplift spirits, and serve our listeners whenever and wherever they need us.”
Gibson will oversee all daily operations, programming, and strategic growth initiatives for the network’s stations and digital streaming platforms.
