The Lopez family made national headlines for something that has bewildered doctors.

Suze Lopez had a rapidly growing tumor in her abdomen, and it had become very large. As doctors prepared to remove it, they made a shocking discovery – Suze was pregnant, AND she was nearly full term. The growth of the tumor had hid the baby, but even more miraculous – the baby had developed outside the womb. A team of 30 specialist doctors came in to remove the tumor and deliver the healthy baby.

When word got out, the Lopez family was contacted by every major news source, ABC, CBS, FOX, as well as big talk shows and publications. There was only one outlet they reached out to, though, 88.3 Life FM in their home of Bakersfield.

Program director Matt Pelishek, along with co-host Aaron Perlman, teamed up with the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center to bring the family much-needed supplies. They had not had time to prepare for a baby, so they brought diapers, onsies, a rocking chair, and a playpen.
