North Georgia Shows Up Big for 101.1 The Pulse’s Great Turkey Drop
WLJA 101.1 The Pulse, North Georgia’s unique CCM and Country hybrid station, brought Thanksgiving cheer and a whole lot of fun to the community with The Great Turkey Drop 2025, held Saturday at Robert Loehr Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Cartersville.
Inspired by the iconic WKRP in Cincinnati stunt, The Pulse delivered its own family-friendly twist as Dan Ratcliffe and Asa Jones dropped 101 “flying turkeys” from a helicopter, while Griffin Adkins and Darien Southerland called the action live on the air. More than 80 listeners gathered for the one-of-a-kind spectacle, eagerly catching the plush “turkeys” as they fluttered down.
Each turkey was redeemable for prizes including concert tickets, local attraction passes, grocery gift cards to help families purchase their Thanksgiving turkeys, and one lucky listener even won $500.
The event allowed WLJA to bring the community together in a memorable way while helping provide holiday meals to those who needed them.
