God’s Pit Crew and Rolling Fork First Baptist Church Over 2,000 Critical Relief Supplies in Full-Circle Effort
God’s Pit Crew and Rolling Fork First Baptist Church partnered this weekend for a large-scale mobile Blessing Bucket packing assembly, resulting in the preparation of more than 1,000 Blessing Buckets and 1,000 children’s Play Pails for future disaster response efforts. Volunteers from God’s Pit Crew’s Mobile Blessing Bucket Team joined with church members and local supporters to complete the assembly in Mississippi.
The event marks a meaningful milestone in the continuing connection between God’s Pit Crew and the Rolling Fork community. Following the catastrophic tornado that struck Rolling Fork, Mississippi, in 2023, God’s Pit Crew immediately responded with critical relief supplies and onsite volunteer aid to clear debris and then helped rebuild the community – constructing and furnishing two new homes for the Nichols and Berdley families that same year. The organization returned in 2024 to build a third home for Pastor Britt Williamson and his family.
Pastor Williamson recalled the aftermath of the storm in 2023 and witnessing God’s Pit Crew’s immediate response then.
“A lot of people in our church received Blessing Buckets,” shared Williamson. “We had 18 families in our church that lost everything, with most of those receiving the buckets from God’s Pit Crew… and for a family that literally didn’t have anything but the clothes on their back, to receive a bucket of hope was monumental.”
In a full-circle moment, Rolling Fork First Baptist Church fundraised to make this weekend’s project possible and serve as a way to give back, helping prepare relief supplies that will serve individuals and families in future disaster-impacted areas.
“Rolling Fork has walked through unimaginable loss, yet this church continues to demonstrate incredible resilience and generosity,” said God’s Pit Crew Blessing Bucket Co-Director, Ruthie Jenkins. “To see this community come together to help provide hope for others is deeply inspiring.”
