Johnny and Stacey Stone Prepare to Depart WGTS 91.9
After almost nine years of serving as the afternoon hosts, Johnny and Stacey Stone have announced their upcoming departure from WGTS 91.9.
“We absolutely love the ministry of WGTS 91.9, and serving the listeners in the Nation’s Capital, but it’s time for us to start a new ministry season of serving our families,” said afternoon show host Johnny Stone. “We’ll be splitting our time between the Dallas-Fort Worth and Minneapolis-St. Paul areas to attend to family members.”
Afternoon show co-host Stacey Stone shared, “In this next adventure of life, I’m going to be completing my Ph.D. in counseling supervision and education on a full-time basis and continuing with my counseling private practice. This is a big step, and we would appreciate your prayers.”
WGTS President and CEO Kevin Krueger said, “Johnny and Stacey have blessed and ministered to hundreds of thousands of people in our area for almost a decade. They’ve served well, not just on the air, but in helping to build our team. We will miss their daily presence.”
The Stones’ final day on the air will be Friday, August 8, 2025. The station has not announced plans for the afternoon show after that date.
