KTIS Hosts “A Night of Hope and Healing” to Address Mental Health

In response to the growing mental health crisis affecting millions of Americans, 98.5 KTIS (Minneapolis/St. Paul) partnered with Kairos Therapy Institute and Rockbridge Counseling Center to present “A Night of Hope and Healing for Mental Health” on the evening of Thursday, February 20. The special two-hour live broadcast provided listeners with expert guidance, prayer, and valuable mental health resources.

Hosted by KTIS personality Pam Lundell, and Dr. Melissa Mork from the University of Northwestern, the event featured a panel of mental health professionals who answered calls, offered encouragement, and connected individuals with the help they needed. Throughout and after the program, the KTIS phone lines were flooded with listeners seeking hope, reassurance, and next steps for themselves or their loved ones.

“God uses each of us in unique ways, and last week, He used KTIS to help folks move toward hope and healing for mental health,” said Ben Holsen, program director for 98.5 KTIS. “The connections, prayers, and resources shared allowed people to get the help they so desperately needed. The overwhelming response was a bit shocking, and we thank God for the opportunity to share Him with the hurting.”

The impact of the night was deeply felt, not only by listeners but also by the professionals who joined the effort. David Runion, director of operations for Rockbridge Counseling, reflected on the event’s significance: “Many people are concerned about their family members—both with their mental health and their faith. It was very meaningful to walk these listeners through their struggles and help them find the resources they need.”

With more than 53 million Americans experiencing some form of mental illness each year, the need for support and faith-based encouragement has never been greater. KTIS remains committed to being a voice of hope in the Twin Cities, providing resources that uplift and strengthen the community.
