WBGL and Rural King Present Harvest of Hope
Mattoon, IL – August 15, 2024 – WBGL (Champaign, IL) partnered with Rural King to present their annual Harvest of Hope festival on August 10 in Mattoon, IL. Since 2021, this event has brought together families and community members for an evening of uplifting music, faith, and giving. This year’s event featured performances by Rhett Walker, Rend Collective, and Anne Wilson.
100% of the profits from the event are donated to local faith-based organizations, with ticket purchasers choosing which organization their ticket will benefit. It is a unique model that benefits the community and empowers attendees to directly impact the causes they care about.
“It’s incredible to witness the hope of Christ firsthand at this event.” said Brittney Ciciora, WBGL’s community engagement director. “People are choosing to be baptized and are publicly proclaiming that Jesus is the Lord of the harvest and of their lives. We are thankful for the generosity and leadership of Rural King, and to the community of Mattoon for their hospitality.”
4,663 tickets were sold for the event, with an additional 250 donated. But more importantly, 1,237 Bibles were collected and 21 people were baptized.
