WGTS 91.9 Teams Up to Promote ‘Unsung Hero’
(Washington, D.C.) – WGTS 91.9 and King Story Company have teamed up to promote “for King & Country” and their new movie “Unsung Hero.” Starting in mid-April, WGTS 91.9 bought 30-second ads that played in most of the major movie theaters in the Washington, D.C., area. The spots advertised the movie and invited moviegoers to also experience “for King & Country’s” music on WGTS 91.9. The spots contained a QR code where viewers could watch the movie trailer, listen live to the station, or buy tickets to “for King & Country’s” upcoming show in the area.
In addition, the station hosted a sneak preview of the movie for listeners a week before its release. They also gave away movie tickets and a chance to win a trip to Nashville to see “for King & Country” at the Grand Ole Opry this fall.
‘For King & Country’ is one of our biggest artists, and “Unsung Hero” may be the biggest movie ever for Christian radio,” said WGTS marketing director and morning show host Jerry Woods. “It made sense for us to go all in on this movie and leverage it to turn viewers into potential listeners for the station. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for partnerships this deep, but we are glad we could be a part of this one.”
