WGTS 91.9 Presents Sidewalk Prophets ‘Great Big Family Christmas’ Tour
The WGTS 91.9 team welcomed over 1,100 people to the “Great Big Family Christmas” with the Sidewalk Prophets. Listeners sang along with classic and modern Christmas songs. They were treated to surprises like Little Debbie Christmas Cakes, and select audience members were picked to get prizes like a big screen TV. The night’s highlight was when the band brought up an audience member named Shaquita. She is a single mom of four who is struggling to make ends meet. The band prayed for her onstage, and as she returned to her seat, lead singer Dave Frey said, “Prayer is good, but it’s not enough. That’s why we want to take up an offering to ensure that Shaquita’s immediate needs are met.”
“It’s always special when the WGTS family gets together,” said WGTS chief administrative officer Kelly Carvalho. “But there’s just something different about getting everyone together for Christmas. It felt like we were one big family gathered in the living room to sing Christmas carols and celebrate Jesus’ birth. It was great way to kick off the Christmas holiday.”
