WGTS 91.9 Holds Listener Appreciation Concert With Blanca
(Clarksburg, Md.) – Close to 1,000 WGTS 91.9 listeners came out for a night of singing and dancing with Blanca during the WGTS 91.9 Listener Appreciation Concert. WGTS and Cedarbrook Community Church in Clarksburg, Md., presented the concert as a gift to the community. For admission, listeners needed to display a WGTS 91.9 bumper sticker on their cars. For listeners without one, station volunteers were on hand to give them one at the entrance to the parking lot.
“I loved everything about the night – the dancing, the enthusiasm of the crowd, and the number of families that could attend,” said WGTS midday show host Becky Alignay. “I heard about one family with five kids who’d never been to a concert before, but they could enjoy this one because it was free. And that’s why we do this.”
The church was packed by the time the show started, so WGTS team members added more chairs until every nook and cranny was full.
“In a perfect world, I wish all of our shows could be free,” said WGTS morning show host and director of marketing Jerry Woods. “I’m really grateful to Curb Word Entertainment and Blanca for catching the vision of doing a concert accessible to anyone in the Washington, D.C., area who wanted to attend.”
