WBCL Listeners Raise $84,333 for Heart for Lebanon

WBCL Radio Network was thrilled to partner with Heart for Lebanon this summer with our Backpacks of Hope Summer Outreach. All summer long listeners were encouraged to donate $45 to purchase a backpack filled with school supplies, a Bible, and a coat for poor and refugee children in Lebanon.

Our goal was to raise the 1,000 backpacks that Heart for Lebanon needs for their Hope Education Center. Listeners responded quickly and in a big way! Two months into the 3-month campaign, our generous listeners had fulfilled that need, so we continued to raise funds to purchase more backpacks for their Hope on Wheels program. By the end of the outreach WBCL listeners donated over $84,333 –equipping Heart for Lebanon with over 1,874 backpacks for the upcoming school year!

WBCL’s Executive Director, Ross McCampbell says,
“I believe that our listeners were deeply touched by the children who shared how Jesus has become real to them through the practical and spiritual ministry of Heart for Lebanon. Listeners who partnered in this outreach sensed a personal connection in the combined effort to reveal Christ’s love to every child who will receive a backpack.”
Listeners who donated highly connected with the Mission of Heart for Lebanon,
“I joyfully and cheerfully give to the backpacks of hope! I loved when the little child said, “Jesus changed me.” and “I love Jesus so much!”. Thank you WBCL for allowing God to work through each and every one of you!” ~WBCL Listener

“Dear WBCL Family, Thank you for letting me contribute to Backpacks of Hope. What a great idea! Thank you for being there for us in the good times and not so good times. I’m thankful that you care enough to help these little kids to know Jesus and the Word for that matter.” ~WBCL Listener
