WGTS 91.9 Encourages Job Seekers at Employment Fair

Over 1,000 people packed into the Frederick Seventh-day Adventist Church as they hosted the Maryland Department of Labor’s “Rebuilding Careers Job Fair and Hiring Event.” The event featured over 80 different employers who were looking to recruit new workers. In addition, there were resources to help attendees polish their resumes and to learn more about the services available to them.

WGTS 91.9 staff greeted and encouraged attendees as they entered the event. Maryland Governor Wes Moore and U.S. Representative April Delaney also stopped by to encourage attendees. They dropped by the WGTS booth to say thank you for the ministry.

“While you may not necessarily think of a job fair as an obvious place for ministry,” said WGTS Director of Promotions and Community Engagement Ken Scribner, “we had people from all walks of life asking for prayer. Many people in our area have lost federal jobs and don’t know how to make ends meet. They come to a job fair and are very open to talking to you and asking you to pray with them. It was our privilege to do that all afternoon.”
