Job Summary:
The Senior Compliance Auditor serves as a member of the Finance Department and will report directly to the Controller. The Senior Compliance Auditor is responsible for Contract Administration, Compliance, Reporting and Tax filings and ensuring compliance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting practices and all other applicable accounting standards for HMG. The Compliance Auditor will also assist with preparation and accuracy of the financial statements, perform analysis of financial results, providing explanation of variances.
Essential Functions:
Accounting
Prepare, maintain, and reconcile accounting records, financial statements, and financial reports
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
Perform month-end close process
Prepare and verify journal entries to general ledger
Assist with annual audit and 990 preparation
Support of budget managers in the annual budget process
Adhere to internal controls, policies and procedures for financial management, and oversight for the organizations
Study trends to identify potential impact to the organization
Assist with monthly financial reports by drafting comments and collecting, analyzing and summarizing financial data and trends
Support analysis of expenses to advise management on financial results and impact of decisions
Any other duties as assigned
Maintain the LeaseQuery database and supporting lease documentation by reviewing, assessing and setting up recording new leases in compliance with ASC842. Develop and make the monthly lease entries.
Timely filing of property and local tax renditions
Compliance
Contracts
Prepare legal documents from FORM database or counsel draft, including contracts, agreements, amendments, termination notices, leases, MOU’s, letters, policies and other such documents as needed
Maintain and manage legal request intake system
Monitor, coordinate and communicate contract renewal and termination deadlines with legal stakeholders
Maintain system application of physical and digital contract files and lease schedules.

Maintain a knowledge base in FCC compliance for contract review.
Insurance:
Maintain and manage daily casualty insurance needs for Houston market including COIs, renewals, endorsements, claims etc.
Coordinate system-wide casualty insurance needs renewals, endorsement through coordination with other local insurance coordinators.
Facilitate claims and lawsuit administrative process.
Legal/Accounting
Maintain and manage local, state and federal compliance databases as needed including business code, fundraising disclosure, property tax etc. including coordination with other local compliance coordinators.
Maintain and manage legal services billing with outside counsel and HMG payables.
Responsible for month-end legal services data reporting.
Trademark
Manage Trademark and Copyright matters, overseeing updates for the marketing team.
Establish direct communication lines with various outside counsel regarding HMG trademarks for all brands.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure streamlined international trademark renewal processes maintaining deadlines.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
Experience:
5+ years Accounting and compliance experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced Excel skills
CPA preferred
Knowledge of non-profit regulations (Section 501(c)3 organizations), preferred
Knowledge of state sales and property tax laws and processes preferred
Experience with contract management, procurement and legal compliance preferred
Knowledge of GAAP lease accounting and ASC 842
Comfortable with databases and manipulating large amounts of data
Experience reviewing and determining accounting implications of contracts
Ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail to ensure financial accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Creative, enthusiastic team player.
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Effective writing skills and excellent grammatical usage and style
Excellent interpersonal skill
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access and AI tool applications
Must be an active member of Bible believing local church
