Job Summary:
Are you passionate about unlocking insights from data to drive real-world impact? Hope Media Group is seeking a forward-thinking BI Analyst III to support strategic decision-making across the ministry. In this role, you will translate complex business questions into data-driven recommendations, build compelling visual stories, and empower leaders to take action. You will engage with stakeholders across departments including Software Engineering, Donor Relations, Finance, and Marketing to deliver high-quality analytical solutions.
Essential Functions
Business Analysis and Data Storytelling:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define data needs, KPIs, and success metrics.
Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, uncover insights, and recommend strategic actions.
Design and build intuitive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI or other leading BI tools.
Present findings and actionable insights to all levels of leadership in a clear, concise, and visually compelling manner.
Model data using tools like PowerQuery, DBT, SQL, JMP, and other data warehouse and analytical tools.
Data Strategy and Innovation:
Support initiatives like Master Data Management (MDM) and Customer Data Platform (CDP) deployment.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, integration, and governance.
Stay current with industry trends, analytics methodologies, and business intelligence technologies.
Promote data literacy and self-service BI capabilities across teams.
Demonstrated Faith:
Pray for coworkers in team meetings or with donors/listeners as needed
Participate in Support Drives as needed
Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
Attend weekly Hope Huddle and team meetings for prayer and devotions
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the organization
Agile Collaboration:
Work in an agile environment, iterating quickly and responding to changing business needs.
Partner closely with Donor Management, Programming, Software Engineering, and Product teams on cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in BI, Analytics, or Data Science roles.
7+ years of SQL experience.
Experience with Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills.
Expertise in at least one major BI platform (Power BI preferred, but Tableau, Looker, or others acceptable).
Proficiency in data modeling, data preparation, and ETL workflows (Power Query, DBT, M, SQL).
Strong visual storytelling skills – ability to transform raw data into intuitive, meaningful visuals.
Familiarity with cloud-based analytics (e.g., Azure, Power Platform) a plus.
Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, remote-friendly environment.
Commitment to Christian ministry values and active involvement in a Bible-believing local church.
Certifications:
BI-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft DA-100, CBIP) preferred.
