Promotion Spotlight – HIS Radio

A couple of years ago, we did a “Worship Leader in the Making” contest.

We always hear the stories of parents talking about their kids singing along to the music of His Radio….SO…..that was our contest.

We had 2 different categories: 4 and under and 5-8 years old.

We posted 5 His Radio songs online and invited parents to submit :30 videos of their kids singing one of the His Radio songs…..we got some incredible video entries. Which ties in with the video content we incorporate into the station, especially the morning show.

We were not basing this on talent, but videos that stuck out and had us talking.

We selected 1 finalist per song in each of the age groups (5 finalists per age group)

We then opened it up for voting at and encouraged the moms and dads to share the voting with their friends and families thru word of mouth, social media….however they could. This sent a bunch of new people to our website, some for the very first time,  to see what was going on and to vote for their favorites.

Our 2 winners and their families each got a weekend getaway to Carowinds, during their Rock The Park weekend. It was a time to enjoy the park and music from His Radio artists.

Loralei was our 4 and under winner and Gregory was our 5-8 year old winner.

I’ve attached the winner’s promo…we always like to tell people what we are going to do, do it and then remind them of what we did. Most of our major promotions have a 6 week run.

I’ve also attached the video entry from Gregory.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
