Tell us about your station:
We are a radio station devoted to honoring God, loving His people, and serving the community of North Louisiana. We work to encourage and strengthen our listeners, introduce a life-changing Jesus to those who don’t know Him, and connect together a group of listeners in North Louisiana through prayer, great music, and fun events. We are blessed to be able to minister beyond Louisiana through worldwide streaming, Facebook, Twitter, and social gatherings everywhere. Our motto is: “Love. Hope. Family.”
Your station’s most successful promotion:
Valentine’s Head Over Heels Couples Date Night
A scavenger hunt-type race around the twin cities for couples. Couples drive from location to location playing games, solving riddles, etc. and compete to be the first across the finish line. Afterward the couples enjoy a catered dinner and the race winning couple is presented with the grand prize – a paid vacation.
Registration is free and usually fills up in a couple of days. Generally there are over 50 couples on the waiting list and more we have to turn away.
Resources your station uses:
Chuck Finney is our consultant with Beth Bacall as our talent coach. We have access to Creative Cardio show prep.
One bit of wisdom to share with others:
Care about your community. Look for real ways to love and help people. Jeremiah Beck, the GM, has made this a high priority. Even with another Christian music station in town…plus AFR and K-Love signals nearby…it’s clear that 88.7 The Cross is the well known and respected in the community.
Play the best songs and connect with the audience.
Share an impactful listener story:
My husband and I have been through a lot and your station helps us remember that no matter what is going on in the crazy world our purpose is not of this world or even about each other or our son or jobs or money. It’s to be a light to draw people to God and so they can find Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Thank you guys so much for obeying God.
Tell us why you’re a member of CMB:
Personally, my Gold Membership has allowed me to have some ownership in what we, as a Christian radio industry, do day in and day out. This is not just ownership in my own station but other stations around the country. The ability to learn from one another and reach more people collectively for the kingdom of God is well worth the price of admission. The relationships I’ve made with other broadcasters and the knowledge gleaned from events and conversations are priceless.
