Tell us about your station:
We serve a large portion of Kansas, parts of OK, TX AND Colorado with 10 full powers and 30 some translators. Signed on in September of 1992. KJIL has been recognized as Marconi and Dove award winners. While it is nice to be recognized by our peers for a job well done, we strive to humbly serve Him daily and that He is pleased by our efforts.
Your station’s most successful promotion:
Can’t point any particular one. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and are giving away a trip on the Jesus Freak cruise. While that’s fun, we get even more excited about promotions that draw us in to ministry opportunities with our listening family, such as supporting our area pregnancy centers, mission trips, marriage events, food drives and ect. Working along side area churches and our listeners is exciting.
Resources your station uses:
Too many to name. Life is show prep!
One bit of wisdom to share with others:
Never ever forget who you work for. When things are good, celebrate the joy! When things are hard, look for and celebrate His mercy and grace.
Share an impactful listener story:
A single mother call us in tears and shared her story. And it was a struggle for her and her kids. She shared how God used KJIL to encourage her and speak to her heart through the progamming. She was not able to support us financially, but wanted to thank everyone who could give on her behalf so she could have local Christian radio. That’s what it is all about, helping each other share the load.
Tell us why you’re a member of CMB:
It’s outstanding! From the encouragement to the opportunities for furthering our skills. CMB is an integral part of our professional and spiritual growth as a ministry.
