Tell us about your station:

KCBI began in 1976 and continues to be a discipleship force for Jesus Christ in North Texas. KCBI ranks as the largest music and teaching based non-com radio station in the nation and has grown significantly over the past year reaching 400,000 listeners per week. KCBI’s Mornings with Jeff and Rebecca has consistently been ranked as one of the top shows in DFW. KCBI proves that they are not just a radio station, they are a ministry.

Your station’s most successful promotion:

In December, we launched a promotion called Christmas Song of the Hour. At the top of each music hour, we would give a clue on what the song would be. When the song played, we took the 9th caller. The winner of each hour was qualified to win groceries for a year. We had nothing but positive feedback from this promotion and added over 200 people to our listener database.

One bit of wisdom to share with others:

I adopted the philosophy a long time ago of legendary basketball coach John Wooden. Our biggest challenge is to be the best that we can be. We only have control over what we do each day. It’s the small things together that eventually make a big difference! It’s the passion of waking up each morning and knowing there is another 1,000 piece puzzle to put together. Also, I believe that the definition of great last year can only be defined as good this year! This approach automatically allows me and my team to create higher highs and higher lows!

Share an impactful listener story:

Tammy said, “February 2014 my world crashed when I found out my 17 year old son had a drug and alcohol issue. A friend told me about KCBI and WOW!! I started to have hope that all will would be ok with Jesus in my life. All the words of hope and people sharing their stories have helped me. Now a year and 10 months later I know there is hope for my son. I will continue to have faith and know that in God’s timing he will accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.”
This is just one of several that we receive weekly. It’s amazing to see God work through our ministry.

CMB Membership has been a great way for us to grow and learn. It has been a great way to connect with other people involved with Christian radio and music.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
