SOCIAL & DIGITAL MEDIA MOMENTUM SUMMIT • Friday, APRIL 27th • 8:30a – 5:00p
SPEAKER INFO
“Looking Forward with Facebook”
Erin Branham • Marketing Director, 95.1 SHINE-FM/Baltimore
With Facebook’s announcement that they will be focusing more on “meaningful engagement,” what does that mean for your station? We’ll talk about navigating the latest change, plus explore some tools to help you engage with your listeners on Facebook outside of the typical “encouraging poster” post.
Erin Branham is the Marketing Director for Brighter Media Group in Baltimore and is one-half of The Jack & Erin Show, heard weekday afternoons on Brighter Media Group’s positive hits station, 95.1 SHINE-FM. Since joining SHINE-FM 13-years ago, she’s worn a number of hats and has experience in promotions, social media, digital media, graphic design, marketing, and on-air. Erin loves creating content that helps listeners grow in their faith and engage with one another. Through her efforts, SHINE-FM’s social platforms are consistently ranked the most interactive in Baltimore media. In addition to helping her listeners find hope, she loves to help her fellow Christian radio peers find tools and resources to help them save time so they can do more of what matters.
“Christian Broadcasters Bring It Home”
Megan Lazovick • Vice President, Edison Research
Smart speakers and other new technology have the potential to return radio listening to the home, and nobody is better poised to take advantage of that listening than formats that already have a relationship with the audience, like Christian radio. But smart speakers also create opportunities for competing media as well. Edison Research will present highlights from “The Infinite Dial 2018” study of the entire digital landscape along with special breakouts of Christian listeners from Edison Research/NPR’s “The Smart Audio Report.” Edison Research VP Megan Lazovick will also bring footage from in-home interviews that show how smart speakers are changing and expanding audio usage.
Megan Lazovick (Vice President at Edison Research) was named one of Cynoposis Media’s Top Women in Digital 2018. Lazovick crafts custom research for thought leadership and content marketing and specializes in the creative presentation of data and insights.
Lazovick is an experienced moderator in many forms of qualitative research: focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and ethnographic in-person studies. She has spent substantial time traveling around the country interviewing people about their lives and passions. Her observations on consumer attitudes and behavior helped to shape custom research studies that have been widely publicized and cited in the media industry, such as Edison’s Share of Ear and NPR and Edison Research’s Smart Audio Report.
She has presented internationally at Next Radio, The European Radio Show, RAIN Summit London, Campaigns and Marketing Summit, Marketing to Women, Marketing to Moms, Country Radio Seminar, and other prominent media industry events.
Lazovick is a graduate of The College of New Jersey where she majored in Communication Studies with a focus in radio and television.
“Creating Online Content to Engage Your Station’s Listeners”
Seth Resler • Digital Dot Connector, Jacobs Media Strategies
In this practical session, Seth Resler will lay out a step-by-step strategy for creating content for your radio station’s website with limited resources. He’ll show you how to make your station a destination for online content and then use social media, search engines, and your airwaves to attract website traffic.
Seth Resler is a broadcasting veteran who, for over two decades, has worked behind both the mic and the programming desk in major markets, including New York City, Boston, Seattle, St. Louis, Providence, and San Jose. He left radio in 2006 to enter the world of online marketing. But he kept returning to the broadcasting industry, teaching radio stations how to apply the online marketing techniques being used by Silicon Valley companies. He writes a weekly column on AllAccess.com, offering internet strategies for radio broadcasters. In 2015, Seth joined Jacobs Media Strategies as our Digital Dot Connector, helping radio stations combine all of their digital tools into one overarching strategy.
“#SOS: How To Respond To A Social Media Crisis (Without Reacting)”
Gunnar Simonsen • Social Media Consultant / Content Strategist
We have all read horror stories about social media crises. Whether it is a post that should never have gone up, a comment thread gone awry or a page that has been hacked, we have to learn to respond and not to react. How do you do that? In this session we will look at the difference between responding and reacting, including real life examples, what we learn from them and 9 things you can apply today.
Gunnar Simonsen has spent the better part of the past decade coaching radio stations, organizations and individuals on best practices for social media. He has taken his message to places such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Kenya, Dubai and Lebanon as well as various cities across the United States and Canada.
