If we’ve learned anything from 2020, it’s that conversations to solidify our stations’ digital assets should already be happening in order to ensure we are part of our listeners’ new routines. Plus, this pandemic has made it more difficult than ever to be creative.

With radio expanding beyond what comes out of the speakers, we believe the virtual Digital and Creative Momentum Summits are vitally important for every person on your team. That’s why we’re offering the two day virtual November Momentum Summits at a discounted rate. It is our hope that you walk away from these summits feeling creatively challenged and better equipped to help your organization make solid plans on what the future of your radio station will look like in the digital world.

Whether you are in programming, on-air, promotions, production, or live in the digital space, these Summits are for you. And, just like if we were in person, you’ll have the opportunity to experience enlightening speakers, amazing performances and intensive training.

The virtual September Momentum Summits were the highest attended Summits in CMB’s history, so if you missed out, don’t make the same mistake again in November!

Why are the November Momentum Summits virtual?

CMB is committed to encourage, engage and equip you in a safe and inviting environment. According to the recent CMB travel survey results from participating CMB Members, a significant number of you indicated that you and/or your organization weren’t ready to let you travel. Out of respect for those Members, the CMB Board decided to move the Momentum Summits to a virtual platform. We know community is very important, that’s why it is our hope that more people attend and walk away encouraged by attending virtually.

What is the outlook for CMB as an organization?

God is beyond good. Through you and hundreds of friends of the CMB community, CMB remains strong and confident. The CMB board and staff are proactively addressing how to fulfill its mission and vision for its members through existing and new educational initiatives and resources. Financially, with the cancellation of Momentum last year and the retooling of Momentum this year, CMB is shaken, yet hopeful. We are indebted to our members and friends of CMB for affirming the value and stewardship of what CMB means to our industry.

What can I do for CMB?

Please pray for our ongoing wisdom, peace and favor from God. As we pray for you, thank you for praying for us to have strong, enduring faith and obedience to guide us through these unchartered waters.  We are here for you as we encourage, engage, and equip our members to impact their communities for Christ.

Not sure if a virtual event is right for you? Don’t just take our word for it! Here are a few virtual event myths debunked by our Momentum 2020 attendees…

Myth #1: Networking is only effective in person.

“At any CMB event, networking opportunities are invaluable and something I thought I would miss the most by attending a virtual event. To my surprise, the Networking Lounge at virtual Momentum filled that void, and I was able to connect with old friends and make new. The staff from our two markets were even able to meet together inside of the Networking Lounge and have some time together!” Art Garza – Director of Broadcasting, STAR 99.1 (WAWZ)

Myth #2: It’s too hard to stay engaged with all the outside distractions.

“Going into virtual Momentum 2020 I wasn’t sure what to expect, if I would be able to stay focused and engaged, but I was so impressed! The level of detail and commitment that the CMB team clearly put into the event quickly put my questions to rest. The unique features offered so much connectivity that I may have even stolen an idea or two in connecting with our local donors and listeners. 🙂 I’ll never forget standing in my living room worshipping and singing with everyone… alone and together all at once! Really looking forward to the upcoming Summits!” Suzanne Happs – Station Manager, 100.7 KGBI

Myth #3: I won’t be able to engage with the speakers and ask questions.

“I loved how interactive Momentum was as a virtual event. I had the opportunity to ask questions in the chat and the speakers were able to answer. We also had a lot of fun talking as a group in the breakout sessions and sharing ideas together. I’m looking forward to an even deeper dive with the speakers in the Breakdown & Networking Lounge at the Summits.” Scott Herrold – Program Director, SOS Radio Network

The September Summits were on point! I took away some practical knowledge I can plug and play right NOW, plus some deeply challenging info that might change our stations for the better for years to come.

Mike Couchman

Program Director, Joy FM / BOOST 101.9
The Music & Programming and Future of Radio Summits were so full of valuable information for me as a programmer! I came away with so much useful information and helpful tips. I can’t wait to work with our team to implement everything make our radio station better, make a bigger impact in our community, and help us be more forward thinking in how to reach future listeners. While I miss seeing everyone in person, the design of these virtual summits and the networking features makes you feel a part of what’s happening, and glad you’re not missing out on any of it!

Jessica Hart

Program Director/Mornings, Spirit 92.9
The September Momentum Summit was an excellent experience – from great guest speakers who really challenged our preconceived notions on music and programming and some great thoughts for the future of our format, to fantastic virtual table conversations with fellow radio people.  Loved every minute!

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
