What led you to a career in the radio industry?

I actually went to college to pursue a career in film. Our film program was just getting started, so I ended up working all four years at our college radio station and fell in love with it.

What advice would you give people new to the business?

Learn everything you can from radio veterans, but don’t be afraid to be YOU and try new things. The industry might just be waiting for someone with your ideas to rock the boat!

Give a shoutout to someone who is making a difference in radio and what are they doing to make an impact?

Shoutout to Marcy and Joe Rinehart from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and WNZR! They poured so much in to me to get me started in radio and they are continuing to do so for countless others.

Tell us about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.

Something God has really blessed me with has been the ability to work my way up in a short period of time. I started my career working for Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk, and in a few short years was able to transition from there to my current role as Station Manager for Way Truth Life Radio in Central PA.

Tell us about a story of a Christian song that made a difference in your life or the life of a listener.

I love the song “Different” by Micah Tyler. There is a specific line that was like an “ah ha!” moment in my life. The song says “I don’t need to recognize the man in the mirror”. It’s this idea that I don’t want to just add Christ to the imperfect me, but I want Him to completely transform my life beyond recognition. I don’t need to hold on to the old me.
