Job Summary

The VP of Hope Events leads the strategic direction of Hope Media Group’s concert department. Hope Events mission is to produce and promote engaging, hope filled events that unite believers and connect people more deeply to Jesus. This is a role for a visionary leader who wants to innovate with Christian concerts and local events. This is role for a strategic thinker, experienced with concert promotion, digital marketing & ticketing strategy. This role requires strong leadership, established contacts in Christian music industry and proven results in event planning. The VP, Hope Events is responsible for building a seminal plan to grow Hope Events forward.

Essential Functions:

Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross divisional and departmental teams to develop special events & concerts that support HMG’s mission
  • Approve and direct Board reports & agendas
  • Responsible for strategic planning and policy recommendations to the Board
  • Present annual budget and revenue goals

Department Operations

  • Identify, negotiate, and book concert tours and festivals.
  • Oversee and manage all elements of production, development, and operations for live events
  • Identify and negotiate venues and monitor ticket sales to ensure budget and quality goals are met
  • Oversee and manage all areas of event Marketing including Promotions and Outreach

Relationship Management

  • Create and maintain positive public image
  • Serve as a liaison between the artist, community and venue to ensure superior event quality
  • Interface with Christian artists and their teams
  • Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with representatives of music industry, venues, and sponsors

Strategic Planning

  • Create and execute Marketing, Promotions & Events strategy which includes Traditional, Promotional and Interactive Marketing plans
  • Ensure plans support on air initiatives, elevates awareness for our brand, penetrates new broadcast markets and aligns with our mission and vision
  • Provide vision for growth and opportunities

Administrative

  • Prepare and direct department budgets
  • Attend and participate in board meetings, staff meetings, community meetings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Demonstrated Faith

  • Pray for coworkers in team meetings
  • Lead prayer in large group settings as needed
  • Pray for donors when called upon to do so
  • Use Christian principles to work through conflict as outlined by the
  • Culture tool kit
  • Participate in Support Drive and Thankathon, and pray for donors over the phone as needed
  • Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
  • Attend weekly Staff Gatherings for prayer and devotions

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years’ event experience
  • 3-5 years broadcast radio experience and/or music industry experience or other relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership experience
  • Ability to identify and build industry relationships
  • Understanding of touring best practices
  • Established contacts in Christian music industry
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to cater to artist’s needs
  • Problem solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Contract negotiation and settlement experience
  • Ticketing industry experience
  • Passion for Christian ministry
  • Heart for Christian ministry
  • Strong moral character
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
  • Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.
    Working Conditions and Environment

Travel:

  • Must be available for regional and out-of-state travel
  • Nights/Weekends/Holidays:
  • Must be available to work weekends and evenings
