Job Summary:

Hope Media Group the home of KSBJ, WayFM, Vida Unida and NGEN radio. This position resides in either Houston, TX or Nashville, TN.  The UI/UX Designer serves as a member of the Innovation Department and reports directly to the Chief of Innovation. This position plays a key role in shaping the user experience of our software product. The UI/UX Designer must have and use their background in user-centered design principles, mobile application design, and a deep commitment to creating visually appealing and intuitive products that inspire and engage our user base to love Jesus, serve others, share Hope.

Essential Functions:

User Experience and Interaction Design

Collaborate with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to understand user needs, pain points, and desired outcomes for our products.
Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and other UX artifacts to effectively communicate design concepts and facilitate an intuitive user experience

User Interface Design

Create visually appealing, on-brand UI designs for our product, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all screens and features
Work closely with the Product Manager and development team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently

User Testing and Validation

Plan, conduct, and analyze user testing sessions to validate design concepts and gather user feedback
Iterate on designs based on user testing results, stakeholder input, and data-driven insights to continuously improve the app’s user experience

Design System and Guidelines

Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system, including style guides, UI components, and design patterns, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the product development process
Collaborate with the development team to ensure design components are properly implemented and documented

Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with the Product Manager, development team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on design decisions and product vision
Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to diverse audiences, both through visual artifacts and verbal presentation

Demonstrated Faith

Pray for coworkers in team meetings or with donors/listeners as needed
Participate On-Air fundraising
Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
Attend weekly Hope Huddle and team meetings for prayer and devotions
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the organization

Non-Essential Functions

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field)


3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in digital media or mobile applications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong portfolio showcasing mobile app design, user-centered design principles, and visual design skills
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar applications
Experience conducting user testing and iterating on designs based on user feedback
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
Passion for creating meaningful, spiritually enriching products that make a positive impact on users’ lives
Strong moral character
Budget management
Heart for Christian ministry
Strong moral character
Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
