Job Summary

Tapping into the power of traditional and digital communication channels, the Manager, Marketing Communications and Public Relations engages people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread Hope by introducing them to Hope Media Group and the ministry of its various national brands. Working under the leadership of the Sr. Director of Marketing, the Manager, Marketing Communications and Public Relations is responsible for providing written communication for multiple media channels including email, text and organization publications. Hope Media Group the home of KSBJ, WayFM, Vida Unida and NGEN radio. This position resides in Houston, TX.

Essential Functions

Marketing Communication:

Responsible for innovation and forward-thinking development of all email and texting strategies that connect the radio experience to the online relationship while expanding the reach locally and nationally.
Ensure written content and ministry voice is aligned across all social media, text and email channels while maintaining brand standards.
Gain an understanding of the different target audiences of our uniquely different content channels.
Assist with 1:1 listener communication.
Provide communication support for major ministry initiatives.
Proactively look for ways to promote the very best written content through our communication channels.
Create collateral materials in support of the business development and marketing teams including Media Kits, Capital Campaign, Email, and Donor Newsletters.
Ability to collaborate with other departments on communication needs and deliverables.

Public Relations:

Manage, coordinate media outreach and interna/external communications efforts for multiple brands under the Hope Media Group umbrella including Newsletters, Campaign Messaging, Digital Ad Copy, Text, Donor Materials, Web Copy, Annual Reports and PR opportunities.
Serve as spokesperson for media relations and PR efforts building solid relationships with media organizations.
Identify, secure and maintain partnership opportunities (paid or in-kind) that align with the ministry’s core virtues and mission, enhance and bring awareness to HMG and through our positive music and messages help to strengthen the communities where our listeners and constituents live, work and play.

Creative Copy Writing:

Regularly produce various types of inspirational written content including web, email, text and digital advertising copy.
Ensure all written content created and shared accurately represents the voice of the brand(s) and is used to deepen engagement and grow each channel’s audience.
Collaborate with donor, prayer, programming, and digital content to create innovate ideas for written campaigns.

Project Management:

Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Utilize project management software to track progress, manage tasks, and communicate with team members.
Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and make necessary adjustments.
Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Monitor project budgets and resource allocations to ensure efficient use of resources.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Demonstrated Faith:

Pray for coworkers in team meetings or with donors/listeners as needed.
Participate in On-Air fundraising as needed.
Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies.
Attend weekly Hope Huddle and team meetings for prayer and devotion.
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the organization

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism or similar preferred

Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in managing digital communications including email strategy and copy writing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and oral communication skills (including presentation)
Must be innovative, proactive, and detailed oriented
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
Proficient user of Apple Computer
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail, writing and editing/proofreading skills required
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
Heart for Christian ministry
Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
