As a Broadcast IT Administrator you will be surrounded by a team who will help and support you and share in your successes.

Position Summary:  The Broadcast IT System Administrator will respond to, diagnose and remedy problems found in the broadcast information systems through communication, troubleshooting and documentation. The position will support on site and on call.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Program, Backup and Maintain servers, systems, Broadcast hardware and software and cloud-based systems.
  • Perform firmware updates on equipment as needed
  • Identify and conduct preventative maintenance on areas of responsibility.
  • Provide high quality technical support for internal customers.
  • Monitor the quality of the on-air product and help troubleshoot on air issues.
  • Document detailed resolutions, physical and logical data flow, system configurations, standard operating procedures, and process flow.
  • Perform On-Call shifts 1 week per month.
  • Prepare reports detailing technical discrepencies and resolutions.
  • Perform inventory on broadcast equipment.
  • Configure broadcast equipment prior to deployment as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent career work experience
  • Cisco CCNA certification
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network +
  • SBE CBNT Certification
  • Experience with Configuration of HP and Cisco switches/firewalls
  • Experience with Flash Media Encoder, Media Encoder

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • A self starter who enjoys seeing a project or task through to completion.
  • Ability to respond to work orders and perform tasks specified.
  • Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, audio switching, control and operation of broadcast communications systems.
  • Knowledge of RCS, Vox Pro, Wheatstone and IDC.
  • Troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about them.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Reading comprehension skills with ability to understand information and ideas presented in writing.
