What is your life verse and why?
2 Corinthians 4: 5 & 6, “For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the lights of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
On my days off you’ll most likely find me outside, hiking with my husband and our dogs or we love bicycling all over the countryside. If it is a rainy, quite day at home I am reading and baking something warm and yummy.
Would you rather be forced to sing along or dance to every single song you hear?
Oh dear! Neither one is an option anyone else needs to experience LOL. Is humming an option? I can hum in tune…sort of. I am counting on entering heaven with my joy spilling out dancing like David and singing like the Angels until then…not so much.
What do you remember most about your first job?
I remember how happy I was because I was in outdoors (there’s a theme to me) on my horse delivering newspapers! Ha, that was so fun, my girlfriend and I split a route both of us on our horses, just like the wild west.
Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why?
We just scratched one off our bucket list with an anniversary trip to Maui where I snorkeled for the first time. So, beautiful, such fun! Now I need to dream up the next travel bucket list item to scratch off – suggestions accepted!
What was your favorite age growing up?
12 years old, when I got on a plane by myself to travel to Iowa to visit my grandparents. Memories for a lifetime of my grandparents investing in me, allowing me to be an only child for two weeks.
If you could magically become famous, would you want to?
Yes, I want to be famous…to my family. I realize they are the ones I am leaving a lasting impression on. I pray that when I walk in a room they feel they are famous to me, like they know I can’t wait to spend time with them, to really know them.
Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
Total introvert in person. However, behind a microphone I am an extrovert – so mixed up ? I want to be the last one to enter a room, sit in the back, and avoid small talk at all costs. But, if I can interview you, well, I am all about that. “Tell me more” is my favorite phrase.
What’s your favorite ice cream topping?
Caramel – is it “Cara-mel” or “Carmel”? I wonder about these things.
What was the last TV show you binge-watched?
“The Chosen. Wow, scripture brought to life so amazing the insight and immersion in the culture. Once we begin watching we can’t stop, can’t wait for the next and the next. “Alone” have you seen it? Fascinating to experience up close how God made us for each other and how challenging it is to face life alone. Okay, just one more, “The Last Alaskans” follows the lives of people who live in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – it reminds me that really, materially, we need so little to live a prosperous life.
Are you into podcasts? If so, what is your favorite?
Yes, love podcasts, listen every morning as I get ready to head to the station. I listen lately to several including: Andy Stanley’s Leadership podcast, Brand & Sherri’s Oddcast, and the Bema podcast.
