What is your life verse and why?
Psalm 23 – It’s probably the first full chapter Bible memorization I did as a kid. I’ve come back to it so many times when life has gotten challenging, filled with big questions, overly busy, out of control, and it’s what I’ll repeat in my mind over and over on nights when I can’t fall asleep. I love it how the message becomes more focused if you as you repeat it, you drop off a phrase. It gets shorter and shorter until the final time through it is simply, “The Lord is my shepherd.” In that moment, with those five words, all of life’s problems are answered.
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
It’s gotta be Thanksgiving! A bit predictable for sure, but it comes with strong memories of family and the security of being together.
If you got to name a new country, how would you decide what to call it?
Well, it’d be an island with sandy beaches all around, palm trees, a few waterfalls. I’d name it after the feeling it gave everyone who visited – Serenity
Do you like going to the movies or prefer watching at home?
With the occasional exception for the super-flick which requires 30 speakers, numerous subwoofers, and a massive 50-foot screen to really take it in, definitely home.
What kitchen appliance do you use every day?
Coffee maker… after a lifetime of work in radio… yup… a coffee maker.
In the summer, would you rather go to the beach or go camping?
Definitely the warmth and crashing wave relaxation of the beach – with family.
What’s your favorite quote from a TV show/movie/book?
“Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”
What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
My phone ringing with a Facetime call from my oldest away at college for her freshman year.
Which meal is your favorite: breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Why?
Breakfast, but not on a weekday. A nice weekend brunch!
Would you rather go without shampoo for the rest of your life or toothpaste for the rest of your life?
Shampoo – I can’t even imagine the alternate… anyone got a tic-tac? Maybe a handful of tic-tacs?
When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?
Definitely did. The idea of not eating crusts on my sandwiches never entered my thoughts.
