Industry Spotlight – Jeri Cooper

What is your life verse and why?

Matthew 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

I do a restorative yoga practice at the end of most days and this is the intention most evenings.

What was your childhood nickname?

“JD” my maiden name is Detweiler.  Some people use JC now using my married last name Cooper or JDC. Hahaha

What’s your go to karaoke song?

Hmmm, I’ve never done karaoke so, I think I’m disqualified from this question.

What’s the last book you read?

Rachel Hollis “Didn’t See That Coming”

What’s your favorite meme?

This probably makes me uncool, but I don’t use memes.  I do like Gifs and while I say I don’t like emoji’s I use them quite a bit.  Mostly because with text and email a smiling face is way more fun than just words, right?

Tacos or hamburgers?

Tacos everyday unless it’s in-n-out burger

What’s worse laundry or dishes?

Is double dipping ever acceptable?

If it’s just me, yes. ?

Biggest pet peeve?

“I’m still listening”

Dogs or cats?

Doggo’s because I’m allergic to cats

If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

This is super tough to answer, because there are so many, many people I’d love to have coffee with.  Assuming I could have more than one I’d have a glass of wine with Jesus, a cup of coffee with Seth Godin and a sandwich with Elvis.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
