Industry Spotlight – Dave Conour

What is your life verse and why?

1 John 3:16 – We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

My wife and I had this verse read at our wedding. Maybe even more than John 3:16 for us, this verse encapsulates my desire to serve others.  That is how we love and why.

Can you touch your tongue to your nose?
Nope.  What am I…a freak?  Actually, my wife and daughter can.  Still freaks me out.

What’s your most used Emoji?
I believe they call this a grimace.  For me…it’s the “what have I done?” face.

What’s your hidden talent?
I am a singer and have often starred in Music Theater productions in my spare time.

What’s your go-to road trip snack?
Mike and Ike’s/Hot Tamales/Casey’s Pizza

What’s the last show you binged watch?
The Blacklist (Last season) and The Newsroom (whole series…again)

Favorite zoo animal?
Otters (Are there other animals at the zoo?)

Beach or mountains?
Not a fan.  If forced to choose, I’d choose beach, but I want a rocky beach in the Northwest or off the shore of Canada.  Prince Edward Island specifically.

What’s your middle name?
Michael (Zzzzz)

iPhone or Android?

Pizza toppings?
Much of this question depends on the place:  Spicy meats of any kind. Roasted garlic. Mushrooms. Really about anything…except olives.  Olives are gross.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
