What is your life verse and why?
Phillipians 3:10-14: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
It’s a long passage, but these verses meant alot to me as I was learning what it meant to have a relationship with Christ rather than just “being good” and “doing good”. It’s my reminder of the goal (to know Christ), a reminder to keep going (I press on), a reminder that it’s not my own ability (Jesus took hold of me), and a reminder not to focus on my failures (forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead).
A genie gives you three wishes—what are they?
A personal chef, a self-cleaning house, and a self-driving car (nap or read on the way into work? yes please!)
If you could time travel, when and where would you go?
Hm, tough one. I think the 1950s, New York City. I love the movies, and fashion from that era so I think it would be fun to experience that in person.
What’s your favorite fast food chain?
Chipotle – give me all the chips and queso
What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?
A vet or a teacher
If you were an animal, what animal would you want to be?
Well, according to the internet..the enneagram 1 is supposed to be a bee…so that’s what we’ll go with. 🙂
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
French fries
What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?
Oh man, I don’t know if it’s a career highlight, but I’m pretty proud of surviving 2020. Helping WCSG try and navigate between COVID, racial tensions, and political tensions while maintaining a high level of service and commitment to our listeners while also trying our best to care well for our employees was quite the challenge.
What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
Check the baby monitor
Do you think iced coffee should only be consumed in the summer or all year round?
All year round
What’s your favorite family tradition?
Growing up, we would celebrate almost every holiday/event. Of course we’d celebrate Christmas and 4th of July…but we’d make a “race car cake” for the Indy 500, “horse cookies” for the Kentucky derby, and decorate the house for St. Patrick’s Day. I hope to continue those traditions with my family!
