MIDDLETOWN, CT (1/21/21)–WIHS 104.9 FM General Manager Steve Tuzeneu, recently honored Program Manager and On Air Host Ron Gangwer for 20 years of service. A resident of Enfield, Connecticut, Gangwer grew up in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Vermont. After graduating from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible and Education, he served as a sixth grade teacher and then school administrator at a Christian academy in Massachusetts. He joined the staff of the commercial-free, listener-supported, non-profit Christian radio station in February of 2001.
Operated by Connecticut Radio Fellowship, the call letters W-I-H-S stand for We’re In His Service. Staffed by over 20 full- and part-time employees, the “live and local” station has provided listeners with daily hope and encouragement since 1969.
