WAY-FM Hires Prayer and Outreach Pastor To Serve Listeners

Colorado Springs, CO – WAY-FM has announced the hiring of their first-ever Prayer and Outreach Pastor. The goal is to better serve the prayer requests and spiritual needs from listeners that they’re receiving from all over the nation.  Pastor Dave Kennedy joined WAY-FM as the Prayer and Outreach Pastor, effective January 3.

“We are making a commitment to pray individually for every listener request that comes to us in 2017,” says President Bob Augsburg. “Last year, we received over 10,000 prayer requests.  These were people who consider us their friend, and they were pouring their hearts out to us, asking for prayer.  We know we’re not a church, and we’re going to be intentional to point people to a local church, but we do believe that we have a calling and a responsibility to serve this need.  We are very excited to take this next step in the ministry of WAY-FM.”

Pastor Dave Kennedy comes to WAY-FM after serving for 30 years as Senior Pastor at various churches, most recently at Community of Grace Church in Richmond, Virginia. He and his wife, Nancy, relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to family and now to be part of WAY-FM. He will be responsible for leading the WAY-FM prayer and spiritual care initiative.   Additionally, all WAY-FM staff will join him in this important behind-the-scenes ministry effort.

WAY-FM and WAY Media Network Services reach into nearly 100 communities on FM signals in 26 states. WAY-FM owns and operates stations in many top 100 markets including Dallas-Ft Worth, Denver, Portland, Nashville, West Palm Beach, Louisville, Ft. Myers and Huntsville.
