Shine FM (WSOH Bellefontaine/Zanesfield, WKEN Kenton) has been working with the Ohio Hi Point Career Center in Bellefontaine, OH, to provide high school students an opportunity to work in their career field to obtain real-world experience.
Jadzia Cafe came to Shine FM as a Junior in high school and began helping with events. She moved quickly into audio editing, production and voicing underwriting spots. She has grown to love every part of working for Christian radio and was recently awarded her own show on Saturdays from 4 – 8 pm. Jadzia claims she is living her dream! She learns so quickly and does such a great job, the staff of Shine FM now affectionately calls her “Jedi”.
In May of 2018, she graduated Best in Class at her technical college where she studied Electronic Engineering. She finished with a 4.09 GPA , was top in her class of 250 students, and delivered an impressive speech from the stage at her Convocation on May 23rd.
Jadzia was an active member of both her career technical school and home school, Riverside High School, she acted as Reporter on social media for her technical group, was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, and served as Field Commander of her marching band.
This fall, Jadzia will be attending Liberty University in Virginia for Audio Engineering and Digital Audio Media and will be marching with Liberty’s “Spirit of the Mountain” Marching Band as a mellophone.
We are so proud of our “super intern” and hope to keep her involved with the station for many years to come!
