Sterling Tarrant Announces

There is the science of radio, and the art of radio. Many programmers find the science aspect is easier to follow through on, while the artistic side remains more difficult to strategize and coach.

Sterling Tarrant specializes in the art of putting words and audio together, to get listener’s attention, and then their response. To work alongside your strategic programming direction, to make a station that listeners absolutely love and can’t live without.

He has always freelanced by request, offering copywriting and production services. Now, he is also available for Production Consulting and Idea Generation.

Why now? He has seen a wonderful embracing of music testing, research, and jock coaching. However, Messaging, Production, and Station Personality, which also make up a major portion of an on-air signal, do not receive the same amount of attention.

To give back, in thanks for a multi-decade career in Production, he now desires to serve others by showing how caring for your production can make a big difference. This is a natural outgrowth from the years of teaching he’s done through CMB and through the former KSBJ Mentoring.

His new portfolio website is at or by contacting

Sterling has been in radio since high school – from Illinois, to Indiana, to Orlando, to Colorado Springs where he helped develop The Word in Music Satellite Network, and was in charge of a decade of creative production for Focus on the Family. For the last 11 years, he’s been at KSBJ, Houston, where is still serves as Director, Creative Audio Services, for both KSBJ and Christian Hip Hop station, NGEN.

Wise, Weird & Welcome: Learning and Leading with the Lepers and the Locust Eaters

We’ve all read the same books about teamwork, leadership, communication, and culture that everybody reads. We’ve mastered Maxwell, studied Sanborn, Sinek, and Sun Tzu, and liberally cribbed Collins in aborted attempts to go from good to great, but…

How’s that working out for you?

What if you left St. Louis with an entirely new lens through which to view and act upon improvements in:

Let’s examine how this all connects together, but approach it from an entirely different angle. Don’t just think outside the box. Kick the box to the curb and start at zero.
