89Q hosted a free Jeremy Camp concert on Sunday, August 15 in Wausau. Over 7500 filled Marathon Park and enjoyed the free event that included Camp, Life Promotions founder and speaker Bob Lenz, new CCM artist Natalie Layne, testimonies, and special presentations on the Lights of Christmas program. Lights of Christmas raises money through Cops at Culver’s Day, Christmas in July at Pizza Ranch, and a few other fundraising events. In the past couple of years Over $100,000 has been raised to help police officers help the hurting during winter months.
Over 300 public commitments to Christ were made in response to Bob Lenz’s gospel presentation. Jeremy Camp concluded the day-long event with a concert celebrating God’s faithfulness.
“The months of hard work and support of many area businesses and 89Q listeners allowed us to have this one-of-a-kind free concert with a major artist”, said 89Q General Manager. “While we knew the attendance would be near 5,000 and the beautiful weather contributed to the huge turn-out. The joy and happiness were quite evident. It was heart-warming to see all those commitments to Christ, then look around and see so many people lifting their hands in praise to our great God and soon coming King!”
